Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation

The struggle has been real lately on finding a liquid foundation that matches my skin. Because I have always opted for a drugstore foundation, it has been difficult knowing what color to pick out. There are so many factors to consider when choosing a shade that I thought it was time to leave it to the professionals to help me out. For the first time ever (yes ever) I went to Ulta to get color matched and check out some higher quality foundations. Of course, the Ulta salesperson knew exactly what to say to convince me to buy the most expensive one they carry, “Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation”. I left the store foundation in hand feeling optimistic and excited. I got it home, tried it for a week… and I didn’t love it.

Pros:
-You’ll find a perfect color match because of the insane amount of shade variety.
-The product feels super light weight on the skin.
-Lancome didn’t cheap out on this packaging; It’s very durable.
-There is a pump on the applicator, which helps the product to stay fresh.

Cons:
-It is only medium coverage.
-That being said, it did not cover my acne well at all even with 2-3 coats.
-There is a floral scent that lingers all day.
-Cha ching… this baby is pricey!

I bought this thinking it was full coverage, that was the main selling point for me. For some people who may not struggle with acne, scarring, or redness I can see where you’d think that this is fuller in coverage. For others (such as myself) who have areas to cover up I would consider this more of a medium coverage. While I absolutely loved how light this felt in comparison to drugstore foundations, I couldn’t get over the simple fact that, for $47 per bottle, I just didn’t love it. I am the type of person who doesn’t mind spending a bit more on products that work. But sometimes higher price doesn’t mean better. I’ve used foundations from the drugstore costing a quarter of the price that had more coverage.

Now, I’m not saying I hate this product… it just didn’t work well for me. I would recommend this foundation for anyone who has clearer skin looking to simply even out your skin tone and would suggest that others opt for something else, XOXO.

Yes I have been caught by the ladies in Ulta before too! My Daughter swears by Too Faced – born this way foundation for full coverage – it seems to cover her acne well. I’ve always been fond of the Amazonian Clay foundation for really full coverage – although you’ll feel it too! On your face and your pocket book 🙂
