Welcome to another foundation review! This time I’ll be laying out the pros and cons to the Clinique Beyond Perfecting 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer. Let’s jump right into it…
Pros:
-Full coverage
-Matte finish
-20 available shades
-Doesn’t settle into lines
Cons:
-Heavy formula
-Looks somewhat cakey
-Oxidizes
-Messy applicator
After weighing out the pros and cons, I will say that I do like this foundation, but don’t like it enough to wear it every day of the week. I have oily, acne prone skin so a huge pro is the matte finish but a huge con is that this formula feels very heavy on my skin. For me it’s a better fit in winter in regards to the formula, however it does oxidize quite a bit so that’s not great either. I do enjoy the coverage it gives me because, after all, it does double as a foundation and a concealer. It definitely covers up any imperfections in my skin, blemishes, and scars while also not settling into fine lines or wrinkles. The price point isn’t too bad at $27, though once I run out I likely won’t purchase it again. I don’t hate it but it isn’t worthy of a rebuy in my opinion.
This is one of my favorite products! I love the matte finish! 🙂

I was so so so eager to buy this!!! And since I have a hormonal breakout on top of my skin which is a twin to your skin- I think I will pass. But to just satisfy my curosity – you think getting a sample is worthy? I still want to try this foundation!!

I think it is sample worthy for sure! Let me know what you think if/when you try it out.

I finally tried it out. It was nice intially and looked pretty. It went on smooth even without a primer. But it started looking caked up by the end of the day. It felt heavy and oily too. I don’t think i will purchase this one. But on the better side- it did not break me out, wore well till midday and blushes etc did not fade on it. It worked better with mattifying powders to set it or the occasional blot. The chubby stick foundation seemed better. Have you tried that?

Noon but I want to so bad!! Sephora here does not allow us to return products after they have been opened and used. Maybe will just bite the bullet or the tube in this case!

I did find the oxidation to be a deal breaker for me, no one wants to look grey in the afternoon – lol – thank’s for sharing.

The more I try out new foundations the more I realize just how badly this oxidizes! You are welcome 🙂 thanks for stopping by!!

Foundation AND concealer in one?! I have oily, acne prone skin too so it’s probably not best for me. Plus, I wouldn’t want to pay that much for a name brand foundation that oxidizes. Thanks for sharing this review! x
